Basque Country AeroPress Championship 2023

Our baristas Amaia and Fabian competed this Saturday, May 20, in the Euskadi regional AeroPress championship at The Tap, Vitoria.

Of 22 participants; Amaia, got 3rd place in the championship and qualified for the National Championship. Where the level is getting higher every time, Amaia, who was competing for the first time, her goal was to enjoy a new experience surrounded by the specialty coffee community of Euskadi.
The AeroPress is a different coffee preparation method, where immersion is used and then pressure is used to extract the drink. A drink filtered through a paper filter, where an explosion of flavors is created.

Amaia was training for 3 weeks on her perfect recipe, trying to get the most out of Colombia of the geisha variety, a natural process grown at 1,600 meters above sea level and harvested by producer Héctor Fabio Osorio from Finca Buenavista in Pereira, Risaralda. He obtained a clean cup, with a silky body, extracting citrus, floral and honey notes. A mug that she liked and felt comfortable presenting.
Amaia will continue exploring and improving her AeroPress technique to appear in the National Championship to be held in Barcelona.
