trip to colombia

During the month of March we have once again made a trip to origin, Colombia has been our destination, continuing with our personal and professional values, which is to get closer to the origin and connect with coffee growers to nourish ourselves with experience and add value to each batch of coffee that we serve and we sell to our customers.
A trip that we made together with colleagues with the same values, we visited coffee exporters in Bogota such as Expocafé and RGC-COFFEE, and we visited several specialty coffee shops where we were able to verify that the preparation and profile of the coffees we tasted are up to par. .

Later we moved to Tolima and we were able to meet with the Tolima National Coffee Federation, there they presented us with the new management models of the FNC - COLOMBIA COFFEE GROWERS and the advances that they want to make in the Colombian coffee industry and with tasting included we verified and enjoyed the coffees of this region.

We also had the opportunity to share and taste great coffees from Newerley and Victor, and their complex and rich Wush-Wush coffees, and that we have already set out to have them on our menu at Trike Koffee Roasters. We have seen a great advance in processes and varieties where the added value to the product is even greater.

During our journey to Manizales, we visited Jaime Duque of Public Cupping, an entertaining and relaxed talk where you always learn.
Once in Manizales we had a new opportunity to get to know the coffees in this area up close at the hands of the Federation and the coffees in this area.

In the direction of Pereira we visited Coffee Roasting Juan Carlos Alarcon, where we tasted impressive coffees with new quality indicators, infused coffees where we tasted a coffee with a spicy sensation; chili.
From there we traveled to the Committee of Coffee Growers of Risaralda where a new tasting of coffees from the region awaited us, high quality coffees and very human values.

We rested the trip in Sanctuary, there we were able to contact coffee growers and cooperatives, thanks to Cesar Chevarria for his hospitality and his always great knowledge shared two days full of experiences...

Cauca was waiting for us on our trip, but not before making a stop to learn about the reality in the field of the measures and upcoming projects of the National Board of La Paz, collaborative projects between the Colombian government and mediating International Associations.

After a long journey, many hours on the road and experiences and unique people, we arrived at our final destination, Finca de los Naranjos near Popayan, there we would meet our direct dealing alliances, with Diva Admile Gonzalez to whom apart from paying the coffees with higher differentials than those of the market, we deliver the plus of €1/kg of coffee that you give us in our collaboration for your growth and also for investment in your farm and your workers.
Lastly, we collaborate in some training programmed by Tecnicafe, offering courses to attendees for two days.

We do not let the situation go by to visit Wilton, at his Finca Paraiso92, differentiated coffees and elaborate processes where he gets the best out of the processes, in short, wonderful.

14 days that gave for little and where we learned, shared and closed new collaborations.
